Well, I'm having this problem since the version 16 of ubuntu, I guess (maybe. The device actually has a MediaTek MT7601U chipset and only. 7 but I bought this item to use in Linux as it is advertised to have the Ralink RT5370 chipset. I also have a low/mid range gaming windows PC. I would not like to touch that OSX version but been curious with mojave on hackintosh PC. I have an old macpro 2008 fully loaded using yosemite 10.10.5. I found a post on tonymac but the link they gave for El Capitan drivers which are supposed to run okey on sierra is not available anymore. It didn't bring any results other than the wireless utility not opening and the usb dongle not working.
#Ralink rt5370 driver for mac for mac#
I tried to install drivers for MT7612 ( the only ones available for mac ). I couldn't find any drivers for macOs, mediatek only have windows drivers for MT7601. Look for the relevant driver at the same place provided by c.frio.

You could have started with that, because that's an MT7601 chip, not RT5370. Edit: above link from c.frio will give you the right driver but pay attention because if you click on the Apple logo to get the OS X driver, you'll actually get the Linux driver click on the Linux icon to get the OS X driver!īut note that the drivers included are for Leo/SL/Lio/ML/Mav. Obviously, 10.5 (Leopard) drivers will only be 32bit, so no way you can run those underSierra.

Now, all you need to do is find the relevant driver for your OS X/macOS version. It does not take much effort to read that the model is listed as WD-1506N and fitted with Ralink 5370 chipset.
